During your summer holiday in Méribel, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to ways to fill your days and make the most of the great outdoors. From relaxation to sporting activities, there’s a wide range of options to choose from.

For thrill-seekers looking to push their limits during their mountain holiday, we suggest trying something a little out of the ordinary: glacier hiking.

A cross between mountaineering and hiking, it takes you on a journey of discovery to the region’s most beautiful glaciers.

Glacier hiking: an unforgettable experience

Halfway between hiking and mountaineering, glacier hiking is a discipline in its own right, which will really put you to the test, whilst offering you some of the most spectacular views of the Alps.

Far from the beaten track and the routes taken by everyone else, this kind of experience allows you to gain height and look down over the entire valley.

It’s all the more unusual because, as the name suggests, glacier hiking takes place on ice.

In the height of summer, you’ll have the chance to slip on a warm jacket and some crampons, and head away from the crowds to explore some surprising places.

Don’t be fooled by the lovely sunshine; once at the top, you’ll notice a sharp drop in temperature, which is why we’ll see that it’s essential to be properly kitted out.
