A native of the 3 Valleys, Denis started skiing very early, like most children in the area. Due to his desire to surpass himself, Denis started to compete in ski competitions and reached the regional level in cross-country skiing. Following this and in order to share his love of the mountain environment, Denis trained and became an instructor at esf Méribel 38 years ago. This instructor bases his pedagogy on the coherence between the expectations of his students and their abilities. In his eyes, esf schools make it a point of honour for students to progress and have been very much involved in the evolution of the valley for decades. His best teaching memory is a day off-piste.

Off-piste, Denis is not out of place since he is a mountain leader. Curious by nature, he is passionate about history and beekeeping. In Méribel, his favourite track is the Choucas.
