The big red jumper family is constantly recruiting new instructors to give ski and snowboard lessons in the 220 esf centres in operation. Every year, many mountain enthusiasts choose to join the esf Academy to follow its high-quality training modules.

Before you can earn your precious diploma at ENSA, you'll need to do a lot of preparation, as you'll first need to pass the first tests for the state diploma. Find out now about the key stages in the career of an aspiring esf instructor!

Preparing for official tests with esf Academy

Well before obtaining an instructor's diploma, it is important to start by passing the first tests on the programme (technical test, UF1, etc.). The esf Academy can help you prepare.

To access esf Academy training, a number of requirements have been set in advance. For example, you need to be at Flèche d'or or Chamois de vermeil level.

It is also important to choose a host esf for the sponsorship, as well as the esf Academy of the desired massif. Today, for example, you can take the unique Méribel esf course for your preparation.

Accessible from the age of 16, the esf Méribel course gives you the chance to prepare for the compulsory technical test alongside ski school professionals. They'll be there to support you throughout your course.

Their experience will help you get to grips with the test and give you every chance of success on the day of the exam.

The technical test, a timed slalom, is important because it determines your entry into the preparatory cycle. The professionals who will be accompanying you will be able to guide and advise you before you take this first official test.

ENSA: get your diploma to become an instructor!

Before you can become a ski instructor in the heart of the beautiful resort of Méribel, you need to obtain a state ski diploma in your chosen discipline, awarded by the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme (ENSA). To do this, students have to pass several stages: the preparatory cycle, the CTT technical test, the first cycle, the second cycle and finally the Eurosécurité.

At the end of seven seasons of skiing, exams and multiple tests, the students who graduate with a State diploma can then join the esf of their choice. Once you've got your diploma, Méribel will be waiting for you for years to come. In fact, all the resort's esf instructors are ENSA graduates!
