Is insurance included in the course fee?
  • Participants are not insured by esf.
  • We recommend carré neige insurance.

Are snowshoe walks suitable for everyone?
Yes. Unless there are medical reasons preventing participation, our snowshoe walks are open to everyone aged 10 and over.Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Will I be able to keep up with the group on a snowshoe walk?
Yes. Your instructor will adapt the pace and route to suit the ability of everyone in the group.
Do I need to bring my own equipment for a snowshoe walk?
Yes. The price includes instruction only. Snowshoes and poles can be hired from sports shops in the resort.Please wear waterproof walking boots that provide good ankle support.
Do I need a ski pass?
No. However, if a particular outing requires a ski pass, you will be informed when you make your booking.

Snowshoe outing in Méribel: a winter hike worth trying

Withesf Méribel, venture off the beaten track on a snowshoe outing and set off in search of animal tracks in unspoilt countryside. During your walk, you’ll have the chance to take in the scenery, as this activity also gives you the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the enchanting surroundings.

On a snowshoe hike, you’ll also enjoy listening to your guide, who’ll share some of their knowledge about the flora and fauna around you. It’s a great way to learn more about the mountain environment, whether you’re on your own, with friends or with family. Everyone aged 10 and over is welcome!

Whether you’re looking for a snowshoe walk suitable for everyone to get back in touch with nature, or a hike with a significant elevation gain to really get your heart rate up, we’re sure to have the perfect outing for you in the heart of the 3 Vallées.

Take the time to browse our programme online (marked trails, family hikes, etc.) and explore the various options available to you today. Also, remember to bring your own snowshoes on the day, as equipment is not provided by the esf, just as with other mountain activities. It’s up to you!
