Situated in the heart of the 3 Vallées, the Méribel ski resort is an ideal location for off-piste skiing. If freeriding is a sport you already enjoy or are interested in, you're more than welcome to come to Méribel.
During your stay in the mountains, you'll discover the valley's wild valleys during each of your sessions, at an altitude of over 1,800 metres. Discover why the experience is all the better with a freeride ski instructor!
If you want to go beyond the marked runs, which you've already experienced many times during your weekends and holidays in the 3 Vallées, freeride skiing is the activity for you. Thanks to freeride skiing, you'll be able to discover a whole new side of Méribel, between powder and wilderness: a skier's paradise!
Several exceptional freeride spots await you in the area, including the Roc de Tougne slopes and the Col du Fruit. Whether you choose to venture out on your own or with friends, these peaks are sure to give you plenty of great memories (and thrills), provided you already have some skiing experience behind you, as this is a risky sport.
Even if off-piste skiing on your own can be a lot of fun, it's best to be accompanied by a state-certified esf instructor. This professional will teach you all you need to know about freeriding. First of all, he'll teach you all the secrets of the mountain and its dangers. He'll also show you how to use the safety equipment available to you, such as the avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe. This will make it easier for you to know what to do in the event of an accident.
A freeride ski lesson in Méribel will also give you the opportunity to improve your powder skiing skills in complete safety. Your esf instructor's personalised advice will help you to master the different rules and techniques of off-piste skiing (balance, etc.), without getting lost.
With our Ride / Off piste pack, you can enjoy a package of five freeride sessions, each lasting 4 or 5 hours, from Monday to Friday. Please note: these lessons are only for very experienced skiers, i.e. those who have achieved at least Class 3 level, for safety reasons. When it comes to off-piste skiing, however, you can be a complete novice.
By booking our esf off-piste courses, you'll be joining a small group of no more than 6 people in the heart of the 3 Vallées. If you want to (re)discover off-piste skiing with friends or family, this is the ideal format. Don't forget to bring warm clothes and suitable skis to make the most of your off-piste sessions in Méribel. It's up to you!
