Méribel is a family-friendly ski resort. Parents and their children are therefore delighted to be able to spend their winter holidays here, in the heart of the 3 Vallées. The esf offers a range of ski courses. Some of them are accessible from the age of 3 thanks to the Mini Club Piou Piou.

Today, however, we'd like to introduce you to two other options that are very popular with children aged 5 to 12: group lessons and Top 6 lessons. Find out which one to choose for your apprentice skier in this article!

Group ski lessons for children: what do I need to know?

First of all, you need to know that esf Méribel offers a wide range of ski lessons for children. Downhill skiing, freestyle... The youngest can try out several variations of mountain sports. Beyond that, children also have a choice of two learning methods: private lessons or group lessons.

In the second case, the children generally meet up in groups of 10 or even 12, as these ski lessons are given by level. In this configuration, the instructor is not able to follow each child individually, as the group dynamic is favoured. On the other hand, it's easier for participants to make friends.

Top 6 ski lessons: how does it work?

At first glance, it's hard to know what's really behind esf Méribel's "Top 6" label. However, it simply means that ski lessons are given in groups of no more than 6 children. This learning option, somewhere between private lessons and group lessons, is an excellent way of learning to ski at your own pace.

We could even say that Top 6 ski lessons combine the advantages of each learning method: the chance to benefit from personalised advice and to make friends on holiday. In these optimal conditions, children generally progress more quickly, because they are better accompanied during lessons.

Which ski lessons should you choose for your children in Méribel?

Are you still hesitating between group ski lessons and Top 6 lessons? First of all, you need to know that group lessons are available all season long, which is not the case for Top 6 lessons. Top 6 ski lessons are only available during the school holidays. So it's important to bear this in mind when making your choice.

Secondly, you can also take into account your budget, your children's personalities and their personal desires. For example, extroverted skiers really enjoy the atmosphere of group lessons, which is not necessarily the case for introverts.

If you would like to discover other offers, you should know that esf Méribel has other programmes in stock for 8-12 year olds, such as Base Camp, Team Kids and competition courses. It's up to you to find the formulas that best suit your children!
