You may not know it, but the Méribel ski area closes its doors on Monday 21 April 2025, as do most of the 3 Vallées ski resorts. The spring season kicks off on Thursday 20 March in France. That leaves you a full month to enjoy skiing outside the winter season.
Although less popular, spring skiing has all sorts of advantages for holidaymakers who dare to venture outside the high season. Quiet, soft snow, sunny days... All the conditions are there for a great time in the mountains!
If you choose to take advantage of the Méribel slopes at the end of March or in April, the weather is more likely to be on your side. In particular, the sun will be out more often, so you can ditch the waterproof ski jacket and forgo the warm gloves.
When you're skiing, you'll feel lighter and freer. The sun's rays will also warm the snow, making it wetter: a phenomenon that is generally better suited to beginner skiers, as falls are less painful in these conditions.
On the slopes, the appearance of the sun always warms the hearts of sports fans! The same applies to the terraces of the bars and restaurants. Sun cream, a cool drink in hand, sunglasses on your head... Méribel takes on a summery feel at this time of year.
What's more, you can enjoy some superb descents, away from the crowds. There are fewer skiers at the end of the season, so you can indulge your passion for skiing more freely.
Wet snow, less crowded pistes... Beginners can take advantage of these optimal conditions to learn new skiing techniques with complete peace of mind. With rental prices dropping by an average of 30% to 40% in spring, this is a great deal for families!
The ski and snowboard lessons offered by the ESF Méribel don't stop when spring arrives - quite the contrary. Your ESF instructors will be with you until the resort closes.
If you want to discover a new winter sports activity or improve your skills in your favourite sport, all you have to do is book the lesson you're interested in online, on the dates of your choice. Our professionals offer lessons for all ages and levels.
From skiing to snowboarding, biathlon to snowshoeing, there's plenty to choose from in March and April. It's up to you to choose your next adventure in Méribel!
