Before you can join esf Méribel as a
ski instructor, you need to obtain a state diploma, issued by
ENSA (École Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme). There are a number of tests and technical trials to assess your ability to teach board sports, and passing them is a prerequisite for passing your exam.
You will therefore need to pass and pass:
- The technical test: This test is compulsory to gain access to the training programme. It consists of a special timed slalom, the time of which must be less than or equal to the basic time plus ;
- The preparatory cycle (UF1): After 2 weeks' training, during which you will learn the basics of teaching, you will be assessed in 4 exams. Passing these exams will enable you to open your training booklet and start as a trainee ski instructor for class 1 and 2 students;
- The Common Training Test (CTT) Technical Test: This is a timed giant slalom, validated with a time less than or equal to the basic time plus a bonus.
Once these tests have been passed and the various training cycles completed, the students finally obtain their long-awaited
instructor's diploma!
