Which children's ski course should you choose?

6 years old and ready to ski: group or private lessons, which should you choose?

With esf Méribel, your child can discover the joys of skiing and snowboarding from an early age. To help them progress on the slopes while having fun, there are several options available. Our ski school offers private or group lessons, and even intensive courses.

But which learning option is best suited to your little 6-year-old skier? To help you make the right choice for your next holiday in the mountains, we take a quick look at the advantages of each ski course!

Group lessons: learning to ski with other children

First of all, you can opt for group lessons. Most children's packages take this form, as it allows them to have fun and learn alongside other children their own age. It's not uncommon for friendships to form on the slopes thanks to group ski and snowboard lessons.

By observing and imitating others, apprentice skiers are also more inclined to invest in their learning, to do what the others are doing, and even to try and do better. In this way, children can develop a healthy competitive spirit. Finally, it's worth remembering that this formula is still the most affordable in terms of price: another undeniable advantage.

Private lessons: for rapid progress

Private ski and snowboard lessons enable children to progress more quickly, as they benefit from personalised guidance throughout their learning process.

This made-to-measure formula also makes it easier for the esf Méribel ski instructors to focus on the child and his or her specific needs. What are their weaknesses? How can they improve? He'll know exactly how to look after him to help him become a good skier in just a few days. From the age of 5, children can discover how to flourish on the slopes, and always in a fun way.

If your child is introverted, private ski and snowboard lessons at the esf may also be better suited to them, as they will progress at their own pace, away from groups, for 1 hour 30 minutes. However, private lessons are more expensive than other options.

As you can see, esf Méribel offers both group ski and snowboard lessons and private lessons. Your final decision will depend primarily on your budget, but also on the preferences of your 6-year-old child and the availability of esf instructors at the time of your visit (remember to book!).

The best 'in-between' option might be our Top 6 ski lessons, because these lessons are given to small groups of no more than six children: so you can combine all the benefits of each option in one! If you want to go further, there are also ski courses for young children at Méribel (Team Kids, etc.). The choice is yours!
