Following an injury - whether resulting from skiing, snowboarding or any other activity - getting back on the slopes can be a real challenge. Once you feel you're ready to hit the slopes again, and after a good physical and mental preparation, you can opt for a private lesson with one of our esf instructors! Our aim? To guarantee you a gentle return to skiing in the safest possible environment.
Taking your time is essential if you are to return to skiing or snowboarding with peace of mind and in complete safety. While it's important to respect the healing time appropriate to your injury (sprain, fracture, strain, etc.), there is no precise time after that when you should resume your sporting activities.
Our No. 1 piece of advice is to listen to you.
So, as soon as you feel strong enough (in body and mind) to get back out on the slopes, take it easy. There's no point in rushing out onto a black run, preferring a gradual resumption for the sake of your joints and to avoid further trauma.
Don't panic, if you don't feel any pain at any stage, you'll soon be back on your favourite runs!
Before you set off again to conquer the most beautiful slopes in Méribel and the surrounding area, a good preparation is essential. Since you won't have been skiing for several weeks or months, you'll need to get your muscles and stamina back into shape so that your first day on the slopes isn't too difficult.
So take the time to do some cardio exercises and revitalise your body. Walking or jogging are good endurance workouts to get you back into shape, while swimming will help you unwind without weakening your joints.
On site, remember to stretch and warm up before your skiing or snowboarding session to prevent potential injuries and optimise your performance. By establishing a good routine before you get back on the slopes, you're also preparing yourself mentally for your return to skiing. It's the perfect way to get back on the slopes with peace of mind!
If you want to get back into the sport after an injury, safety is paramount. Following an injury, you may have lost confidence or feel stressed at the thought of returning to the slopes. By opting for a private course with an experienced instructor in Méribel, you'll get a lesson that's perfectly tailored to your needs.
Your instructor will be able to understand your needs and suggest exercises that will help you get back in the saddle quickly and calmly. You'll be in a safe and caring environment, ideal for regaining your confidence!
