3 golden rules for a stress-free holiday

Ski holidays: 3 golden rules for a stress-free holiday

If you're planning to spend a few days in the Méribel ski resort, a little preparation is often necessary beforehand. Before you can take advantage of the various slopes in the ski area, you need to think about your equipment, your rental, and your ski or snowboard lessons. To make sure you don't forget anything, here are the 3 golden rules for a stress-free stay in the mountains.

Book your ski lessons in advance for a worry-free holiday

Before you start looking for your holiday rental online, we recommend that you check availability for the ESF Méribel ski lessons, especially during the high season.

Whether you want to enrol your children, develop your own skiing skills alongside professionals or enjoy an original experience in the heart of the 3 Vallées, there are several offers available today.

Whatever the programme you have in mind, remember to book well in advance. Many skiers hope to find an ESF lesson once they've arrived, but this last-minute strategy usually doesn't pay off.

Choosing the right equipment for your winter holidays in Méribel

Secondly, it's important to prepare for your trip by taking care with your travel bag. Inside your bag, you'll need warm clothes, of course, so that you can enjoy the snow-covered landscapes in complete peace of mind, but that's not all. And don't forget to take SPF50+ sun cream to protect yourself from the sun, which is particularly dangerous at high altitudes (especially in the snow).

To take things a step further, you'll also need your Méribel ski outfit. A wetsuit, waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers... All this will give you optimum freedom of movement, while providing excellent thermal insulation.

If you have your own ski or snowboard equipment, this is also the time to pack it into appropriate bags (mask, poles, helmet, etc.). If you need to, there are several rental shops in and around Méribel. Please note, however, that the Méribel ESF is not responsible for booking this equipment.

Buying a ski pass: an essential step for skiers

Have you already booked your accommodation and ESF Méribel lessons? Don't forget to pick up your ski passes so you can make the most of the ski lifts!

There are three options available in Méribel: Vallée de Méribel ski pass, 3 Vallées ski pass and Formule Cours et Forfait. These packages are chosen according to the age of the skiers (children over 5, etc.), but also according to the type of lessons booked with the ESF Méribel.

Adults who want to go off-piste, for example, will need the 3 Vallées ski pass. This gives you access to ski lifts beyond the boundaries of Méribel. This way, the best spots in the world’s largest ski area will be within your reach.

Finally, you can choose your ski pass online or in the resort, at the ski lift offices. All you have to do is visit the Alpina or S3V offices, or one of the kiosks on site. It's up to you to decide which solution suits you best!
